Gluten-Free

If youโ€™re gluten free and struggling to find healthy recipes for kids, youโ€™re in the right place! I love to use gluten-free flours, like oat flour, instead of all purpose flour. This is a great way to add extra fibre to recipes while making them safe for more people!

As a registered dietitian, Iโ€™m not opposed to using wheat flour in recipes and youโ€™ll certainly see it across this site. However, I know that many families are searching high and low for healthy gluten-free meals and I want to make it easy for you to nourish your family without worrying about swapping flours!

Youโ€™ll quickly learn I absolutely love oats! They can be used in so many different ways and are a fantastic flour alternative.ย

This baked chocolate chip oatmeal has tons of flavor and will fill your kids up until lunch with no gluten at all!ย

These 3-ingredient peanut butter oatmeal balls are such a filling, energizing snack and are made with just peanut butter, oats, and honey.

Made with eggs, cottage cheese, and oats, these 3-ingredient protein waffles are a fantastic gluten-free breakfast for kids! (Plus, they freeze well and are perfect for meal prep!)

Youโ€™ll find plenty more recipes like these, including my 3-ingredient cookies and banana oatmeal bars. These recipes are a delicious way to make sure your kids get all of the nutrients and fibre they need without worrying about reacting to gluten at all.

My Feeding Philosophy

I get it. Feeding kids can be tough.
I’ve learned that the key to getting kids to try new foods is to keep it fresh and exciting, get them involved, and inject a little enthusiasm and creativity into how you serve them up. Above all else, don’t give up. If you’re serving balanced meals and snacks throughout the day, then you’re doing a good job!
