Vegetarian

These kid-friendly vegetarian recipes make it easy to offer your child nourishing, healthy meals without any meat! Although you’ll find recipes with meat on this site too, many of my recipes are completely vegetarian and some are also vegan.

As a registered dietitian and mother of two, I love to add lots of fruits, vegetables, oats, and nuts to my recipes to make sure they’re both delicious and full of essential macronutrients for growing bodies!

Looking for some great vegetarian breakfasts for kids? These 3-ingredient protein waffles are made with cottage cheese, oats, and eggs and are a great alternative to scrambled eggs or breakfast sandwiches. This recipe for 3-ingredient banana oatmeal bars is filling, perfect for serving with a little yogurt and fresh fruit.

I also love offering smoothies as a great source of healthy fats and essential vitamins and minerals. This tropical green smoothie tastes fantastic with its pineapple and mango. It goes perfectly with a green monster muffin, which is loaded with spinach and completely vegetarian!

For a vegetarian kid-friendly lunch, try packing this flavorful 4-ingredient pasta salad made with pesto, parmesan, and fresh tomatoes. These homemade pizza rolls are endlessly customizable and I love to sneak some extra veggies in mine! Once they’re hidden with cheese and tomato sauce, they’ll never know!

Make dinner even easier with this creamy 5-ingredient mac and cheese or these veggie-packed homemade tater tots!

My Feeding Philosophy

I get it. Feeding kids can be tough.
I’ve learned that the key to getting kids to try new foods is to keep it fresh and exciting, get them involved, and inject a little enthusiasm and creativity into how you serve them up. Above all else, don’t give up. If you’re serving balanced meals and snacks throughout the day, then you’re doing a good job!
